One would think that completing any detailed work of art, no matter the size is quite the feat and really quite difficult to do. Yet, there are some who feel very differently and this includes Japanese artist Shinji Nakaba. According to him, practices such as making full scale paintings on canvas or large sculptures are not an adequate artistic challenge.
For this reason, since 1974 Nakaba has favored rather tiny starting points for his works of art. In fact each individual piece comes from individual pearls that he carves by hand. His abilities are incredible and the outcome is certainly something to see.

His signature works are tiny skulls.
